Digital Fabrication Manager
January 2017 - February 2019
As Digital Fabrication Manager for BLOX, I created & disseminated digital workflows that streamlined the process from design to manufacturing. I have been responsible for transitioning manual CAD processes into a lean workflow that automates cumbersome, repetitive tasks. This research has involved collaboration with teams of software developers, cnc machine manufacturers & fabricators, to create, configure & implement Revit add-ons and Dynamo graphs to reduce human error & give more control over fabrication to project designers.
During 2018, I was able to research & pilot the acquisition of an automated roll forming machine for fabrication of light gauge steel framing. This machine has transformed many manual, inaccurate fabrication procedures into the production of precision building components.
In 2017, BLOX + GA Studio began design, manufacturing & construction (DMC) of freestanding emergency departments for two of the nation's largest healthcare management companies. Working from Bessemer, AL, an integrated team of architects, engineers, fabricators & manufacturers began inventing a process for delivering healthcare facilities of twice the quality in half the time at half the cost of traditional construction.
